Swish Assistant Supporting Hoopsfix Pro-Am as British Basketball’s Summer Showcase Returns

The Hoopsfix Pro-Am has quickly become a key platform for the game in the UK, bringing together professional players, overseas-based British talent, top domestic names and emerging players across five weeks of high-level summer basketball.

The 2026 edition is the fifth annual Hoopsfix Pro-Am and takes place at Brixton Recreation Centre, the iconic home of Brixton Topcats and one of the most recognised basketball venues in the country. The competition runs every Sunday from 7 June to 5 July, featuring eight men’s teams and four women’s teams.

For British basketball, the Pro-Am is more than just a summer league. It is a chance to bring the community together, showcase players who are often spread across different leagues and countries, and give fans a rare opportunity to see some of the best talent in the country compete in one place.

What is the Hoopsfix Pro-Am?

The Hoopsfix Pro-Am was first launched in 2022 at City of London Academy, Southwark, created to bring together elite-level players in a competitive summer environment. From the start, the aim was clear: give British basketball talent a proper platform during the off-season and create a space where fans, players, coaches and media could connect around the game.

Since launching, the Pro-Am has built a reputation for bringing together some of the best men’s and women’s talent connected to the British game. Past editions have featured Great Britain internationals, overseas professionals, standout domestic players and rising names from across the basketball pathway.

That mix is what makes the competition stand out. Many British players spend their seasons across different leagues, countries and pathways, meaning fans do not always get to see them compete in the same environment. The Pro-Am changes that, creating a summer stage where high-level players can come together, compete, and give the basketball community a clearer view of the talent across the game.

Where Swish Assistant fits in

Swish Assistant’s role is to help support the competition through data, coverage and player visibility.

The mission behind Swish Assistant has always been to make basketball stats easier to access, easier to understand and easier to share. Supporting the Hoopsfix Pro-Am fits naturally with that goal.

Over the competition, Swish Assistant will help bring more attention to the teams, players, matchups and standout performances. That means using data and content to help tell the story of the Pro-Am, while giving players another way to be seen and recognised.

Statistics help tell the story of what is happening on the court. They highlight strong performances, show which players are making an impact, and give fans another way to follow the competition. In an event like the Hoopsfix Pro-Am, where so much talent is on display, having that information available helps bring more attention to the players and the games.

The teams involved

The 2026 Hoopsfix Pro-Am features both men’s and women’s competitions.

In the men’s competition, there are eight teams split across two pools:

Pool A

Hometown Heroes

Oaklands Wolves

Team GameBased

TMB

Pool B

94 Feet Select

London United

Southside Saints

UEL

The women’s competition features four teams:

London Lions

JMG Select

AQ Basketball

Ballers

That mix gives the competition a strong balance. There are established names, academy-linked groups, select teams and player-led projects all sharing the same stage. It creates different styles, different storylines and plenty of opportunities for players to make a mark.

Players to watch

The Pro-Am has never been short on talent, and this year is no different.

On the men’s side, names such Matthew Bryan-Amaning, Darien Nelson-Henry, Elvisi Dusha, Teddy Okereafor, Zain Poorman, AJ Roberts, Mo Walker and Jordan Williams immediately stand out. That is a serious mix of experience, size, guard play and proven production.

There is also plenty of intrigue across the wider rosters, with players such as Jubrile Belo, Spencer Matthews, Boban Jacdonmi, Mergim Sokoli, Jai Pathmarajah, Caleb Winspear and Reis Pinnock giving fans more names to follow as the competition develops.

On the women’s side, the rosters include a strong mix of established talent and exciting players. Ire Ozzy-Momodu, Shequila Joseph, MJ Sarkodee-Adoo, Kyla Nelson, Ruchae Walton, Sophie Khlaf, Beth Sarson, Gamu Nkobodo, Amanie Emmanuel and Taziveyi Dangarembga are among the names to watch across the opening rounds.

That level of talent is exactly why we tune in for the Pro-Am. It gives players a platform, but it also gives fans a better view of the depth across British basketball.

Giving the Pro-Am a statistical home

One of the biggest opportunities for the Hoopsfix Pro-Am is preserving and showcasing its history.

Over the years, the competition has featured some of the best talent connected to British basketball, but much of that history has been spread across articles, social media posts and individual game coverage. Swish Assistant wants to help change that by giving the Pro-Am a dedicated home for its statistics and player records.

As part of supporting the event, we plan to add not only the current season's data but also all five years of the competition to the platform. That means fans, players, coaches and media will be able to explore past seasons, track performances across different years and build a clearer picture of the competition's history.

Creating that archive helps ensure the history of the competition is not lost. It helps recognise the players who have contributed to the Pro-Am, preserves standout performances and allows the stories of the competition to be told through data. Whether it is looking back at previous champions, comparing seasons or following a player's journey through multiple summers, having that information in one place adds another layer to the event.

The Hoopsfix Pro-Am has already established itself as a major part of the British basketball summer calendar. By bringing together five years of statistics and making them accessible through Swish Assistant, we hope to help build a lasting historical record that grows alongside the competition for years to come.
